I’m spending a lot of time these days working on ham radio-adjacent technologies. I’m procured a handful of publicly routable IPv4 address from 44net, the IP block reserved for licensed hams. I’m also experimenting with Reticulum, which I believe is the future of mesh networking technology. I’m running a Reticulum transit node, home.tobias.im:4242, which you are welcome to peer with, and I’m participating in the Reticulum Working Group of the Capital Region Mesh.

Professionally, I’m doing Conformance and Interoperability IPv6 testing at UNH’s InterOperability Lab. Practically speaking, this usually means observing the behavior of network devices through Wireshark. The skill translates to my homelab, where I’m becoming much more prone to firing up Wireshark to determine “What is this thing really doing on the network?”
